ACCURATE offers a Two-Year, Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management, which is duly approved
by
AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The course is spread over 6 terms. The programme has
been developed with innovative teaching methodology, contemporary high standard pedagogy,
and at the same time ensuring thorough grooming of students in fundamental concepts of
management.
This results in the development of professional skills of students which help to meet the challenges of
the
corporate world. The students will also be given a thorough exposure to all the concepts of economy,
environment, social and human values, and business ethics. The focus of the programme is on
professionalism, hard work and value based education to cater to the needs of exponentially dynamic
business
environment.
The ever-changing corporate world is increasingly looking for techno-business managers having diverse
skill sets. The PGDM students are required to indicate the choice of two areas of specialisation at the
time of
completion of Term-3. Six elective courses i.e. three each out of four offered, from the two opted areas
of
specialisation are to be completed spread over fourth and fifth terms in the second year. Therefore the
course
offers dual specialisation out of the five disciplines wherein corporate world need managers, namely:
- Marketing
- Finance
- Human Resources (HR)
- Information Technology (IT)
- International Business (IB)
The all pervasive competition in industry today has necessitated that young managers should deliver
from day one. The pedagogy as well as personality development programmes have been specifically
tailor made to meet contemporary needs as well as the rising expectations from graduating students.
The Course coverage and focus iin various disciplines offered are briefly described below.
a) Marketing
The curriculum focuses on latest marketing trends and strategies that expose marketing professionals to
key
realities and issues in the market place. Specialization in marketing gives the student an access to the
latest
information, training, resources and networking. Marketing specialists could get jobs in retailing,
advertising, marketing research and product/brand management.
b) Finance
The emphasis here is on a thorough grounding on the basics of financial language and honing strategic
financial decision making skills so that the students will be able to harness the theoretical tools of
accounting,
economics, market structures and banking to generate wealth. These skills are vital for becoming
successful
managers in the fast changing business environment.
c) HR
Human Resource implies proper utilization of human capital for maximum productivity in order to
maintain a
proper growth of the company. The curriculum includes the areas of training and development, career
and
organisational development. With most of the World Economies converging in a competitive
environment,
issues relating to International manpower management, reduction of levels of attrition, etc are
given the due importance.
d) IT
The World is driven by Information Technology, which has always supported crucial areas of business
processes. Its role has further increased in various areas of industry and commerce. With the
enhancement of internet and multimedia, the professionals will find ample opportunities to imbibe
the knowledge and skills to cope with the rapidly changing information needs in a business environment
where technological obsolescence is the order of the day.
e) International Business
IB is yet another discipline which is futuristic, with the breaking down of trade and business barriers
across
the world. Indian corporate and MNC’s are on an acquisition spree in many countries and their foreign
counterparts are making inroads in India. The curriculum developed specifically addresses the needs
of widening the knowledge domain to cater to the needs of managers in the foreseeable future.
