A workshop on Meditation and Yoga Practices was successfully organized on 13th March 2026 in the Seminar Hall of Accurate College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Aanad MargSociety. The event aimed to create awareness among students and faculty members about the importance of yoga, meditation, and a balanced lifestyle for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The program commenced with Saraswati Vandana, followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the beginning of knowledge. The ceremony was performed in the presence of the august gathering by the Chief Guest and Prime Orator, Dr. Sudhachitaanad Avadhoot Ji Maharaj.
The session was gracefully anchored by Ms. Jaya Bhati, who began the program with a warm welcome address. In her opening remarks, she highlighted the significance of yoga and meditation in modern life, emphasizing how these practices help individuals maintain harmony between mind and body.
Following this, Dr. Darpan Kaushik, Director of the Institute, was invited to welcome the chief guest. He felicitated Dr. Sudhachitaanad Avadhoot Ji Maharaj with a bouquet as a token of respect and gratitude. During his address, Dr. Kaushik shared thought-provoking insights on the relevance of yoga and meditation in maintaining mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being. He also acknowledged and welcomed the distinguished guest and appreciated the efforts of Mr. Praveer Ji, who played a central role in organizing the workshop at the pharmacy institute.
The highlight of the program was the extensive and enlightening three-hour session delivered by Dr. Sudhachitaanad Avadhoot Ji Maharaj. During his discourse, he elaborated on the importance of yoga and meditation in daily life. He provided a detailed explanation of the Patanjali Yoga Sutra and the concept of Ashtanga Yoga, emphasizing the eightfold path as a scientific approach to achieving physical and spiritual balance.
He also discussed the biopsychology of chakras and their connection with the endocrine system and hormonal balance in the human body. The speaker emphasized how yogic practices can influence psychological health and physiological processes. Furthermore, he explained the importance of food habits, highlighting the role of a balanced and vegetarian diet in promoting overall health and development. He pointed out that human body physiology shares similarities with herbivorous species, such as the presence of molar teeth and a comparatively longer small intestine, which supports plant-based diets. He also explained the relevance of the food chain and dietary discipline in maintaining health.
Dr. Maharaj further elaborated on how meditation helps in controlling and stabilizing wandering thoughts, enabling individuals to achieve better concentration and inner peace.
After the lecture session, a practical meditation training session was conducted. Approximately 25 participants enrolled to learn the meditation process. During this session, participants were individually guided and provided with specific mantras, along with instructions on proper breathing techniques and posture to practice meditation effectively.
The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where participants shared their experiences and asked questions related to meditation and yoga practices. A questionnaire was distributed among participants to collect feedback on the session. Finally, a group photo session was conducted with the staff members, students, and the guest to commemorate the event.
The workshop proved to be highly informative and inspiring for the participants, encouraging them to incorporate yoga and meditation practices into their daily routine for a healthier and more balanced life.
