Nukkad Natak is a drama performed on streets to create social awareness about many burning topics like family planning, girls’ education and child labour. With a view to raise awareness about the social issues mentioned above, PGDM students of Accurate Group of Institutions had staged Nukkad Natak at a Great India Palace, Noida and Gardenia Mall, Noida on 24th January 2020 and at Omaxe Mall on 25th January 2020 on the occasion of National Girl’s Child Day to highlight about “how being educated we still living in the umbrella of Gender biasness” as was our Nukkad Natak called “COMPROMISE”.
The purpose of the activity was fulfilled as the participants were successful in making the audience aware of the need to eradicate gender biasness from family, home, work, society and save the girls, women from the clutches of the demon called “inequality”.
In a typical street play style, the young performers moved in a circle clapping their hands before turning to the audience. They performed scenes that depicted the general attitude of people towards the female balance of the society and how the society behaves if anything worse happened to this balance. The actors then addressed the audience and persuaded them to be responsible citizens and protect “the Girl”. The event of Nukkad Natak was a showcase with a lot of enthusiasm and exuberance.
The “TOLI of ACCURATE” was highly applauded by the crowd, management of the complexes for leaving an indelible mark on the minds of the audience through their flawless performance.
Not only had this but our students also got to know the importance of common language to communicate to the masses. Although it seemed like a tough task, our students performed it beautifully and with grace. This unique exposure enlightened them on aspects of self-reliance and teamwork.
We are very thankful to our Chairperson Ms. Poonam Sharma, Director General (PGDM), Dr. Saroj Kumar Datta that how the initiate us to communicate masses about what is going wrong around us with this aid of activity.
